Project Engineer

• Managed and executed multiple product design projects and contract manufacturing jobs simultaneously, meeting all project deadlines and delivering high-quality results that meet customer expectations.

• Designed surgical tools and developed procedures for a novel, minimally invasive, tissue approximation system (Class II) for ventral hernia repair that improves patient outcome and reduces procedure time by 50%.

• Built reliable relationships with suppliers and manufacturers for raw materials, parts, and finished components while managing on time deliveries for in-house clean room production.

• Collaborated with packaging suppliers to create a branded, user-friendly surgical kit.

• Trained and supervised medical staff during pre-clinical and clinical trials, ensuring successful completion of pre-clinical trials that lead to 510(K) clearance. Subsequently, contributed to successful treatment of patients, including robotic surgeries performed using the Da Vinci Robot

Mechanical Designer, Medical Device Development

• Designed and developed a stent valve prosthesis and catheter delivery system (Class III) and successfully completed pre-clinical trials, which lead to the approval for clinical trials.

• Designed laser micromachined stent structures, developed memory shape setting heat-treatment processes, and stent graft encapsulation processes.

• Developed manufacturing processes, testing procedures, and tooling/fixtures for in-house clean room manufacturing and assembly that produced finished devices used in human trials.

• Partnered with surgeons in pre-clinical trials to gather feedback and translate them to product improvements.
